As President and CEO of GSL Welcome Group, Welcome W. Wilson, Jr. oversees the development, leasing, construction, and purchase of single tenant office, lab, manufacturing, and industrial facilities in Texas and surrounding states.

GSL Welcome Group has built over 200 such facilities since 1998 and owns over 80 facilities containing in excess of 3 ½ million square feet. Mr. Wilson has been a real estate developer for more than 35 years with extensive experience in industrial development, residential subdividing, office buildings, and retail centers. He serves as Developer with Kingham Dalton Wilson Ltd., a Design/Build affiliate of GSL Welcome Group. He has held a Texas Real Estate Broker’s License for forty years, and is a member of the Texas Association of Realtors, the Houston Board of Realtors and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Association.

He currently serves as a Director of River Oaks Financial Group, Inc., and the American Lung Association Regional Advisory Board. He is Immediate Past Chairman of the Houston Realty Business Coalition, a Board Member of the Texas Business Hall of Fame, the Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation and the Alamo Endowment. He serves as Chairman of the Board for the Southwest Houston Redevelopment Authority and Southwest Houston Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone Twenty.

Mr. Wilson was appointed by the Governor to serve on the University of Houston Board of Regents through 2017, where he is currently Vice Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Facilities and Master Planning Committee, Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee and is a member of the Student and Academic Success Committee. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the UH Political Action Committee.

He has previously served as Chairman of the End Hunger Network, Vice Chairman of the Houston Food Bank, on the Board of the Greater Sharpstown Management District, the Houstonian Club Advisory Board, as President of the Kinkaid School Alumni Association, on the Energy Collaborative Cluster Council and the Common Grounds Initiative Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership.

Wilson is a Native Houstonian, married to Anita Wilson and has five children.
